Computers can be a useful resource when it comes to your child’s studies. Here are some ways in which a computer can support studying and homework:-
1.Research – Your child will be able to use encyclopedia programs
and the internet search engines to research topics like history
   projects.
2.Word processing – Teach your child to use a word processing program
for their assignments and teach them how to use the spellchecker and
other tools. Check with your child’s school to see what format they
   want assignments to be in.
3.Clip Art and Photos – Your child can make their projects look
attractive and interesting by using royalty free photos and
   clip art from the Internet.
4.Math homework help – There are many web sites offering free math
homework help. Check out the Excel Students’ resource page
   http://www.excelstudents.com/Online_Tutoring_resources.html
   for links to free resources.
5.Test sheets – Download practice test sheets for examinations
such as the ACT and the SAT.

dictionary sites and thesaurus sites to support their English
   studies.

your child’s science studies and to give them biology homework
help. Your child can have fun while they learn by using online
   games and puzzles.
8.Software – There are many games and programs that you can buy to
support your child’s studies. Input your child’s spelling list into
a program to test your child through fun games.
9.Online tutoringOnline tutoring works by teaching your child in
a virtual classroom. Your child will be able to get the extra
help they need with their studies without leaving home.
10.Printing – Print out squared graph paper for math homework and
print out flash cards for spelling and reading.
Make sure that you use parental controls and filters on your home computers to stop children finding inappropriate content and always make sure that your anti-virus programs are up to date. Make a note of useful websites and add them to “Favorites” and use child friendly search engines.
